Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 November 2026
These terms are the rules for using Fiction Realm (fictionrealm.net and the Fiction Realm app), run by Radostin Petkov and Stratimir Petkov in Bulgaria ("we"). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use Fiction Realm
- You must be 16 or older.
- The birthday you enter must be your real one. It decides which stories you can see.
- One person per account. Don't share your account or make accounts to get around a ban.
2. Your account
Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else got into it, change your password (this logs out your other devices) and tell us. You can turn on two-factor authentication for extra safety.
3. Your stories and posts belong to you
You keep the rights to everything you write and upload. To run the site, you give us permission to store, show and copy your content on Fiction Realm, in the way you choose: for example, showing a public story to readers, keeping offline copies in readers' apps, and letting readers download it if you allow downloads. We don't sell your content or use it for anything else.
This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except:
- comments, messages and reviews, which stay as "Deleted user" (see the Privacy Policy, section 6);
- co-written stories, which pass to a co-author instead of being deleted;
- copies that readers already downloaded or saved offline before it was deleted;
- backups, until they are deleted (about a week).
Only post what you have the right to post: your own writing and pictures, or things you have permission to use.
4. Community rules
Don't post or do anything that:
- is illegal, or encourages illegal acts;
- sexualises minors in any way, including in fiction. This is never allowed and is reported to the authorities;
- harasses, bullies, threatens or targets anyone, or shares someone's private information;
- attacks people for who they are (hate speech);
- copies other people's work without permission (plagiarism or copyright infringement);
- is spam, advertising, scams or misleading links;
- pretends to be someone else;
- tries to break, overload or get around the site's security, or collects other users' data.
Stories with adult content must be given the right rating and content warnings. Ratings decide who can see a story; an admin can change a wrong rating.
5. Reports and moderation
Use the Report buttons to tell us about content or accounts that break these rules. We may, at our discretion:
- remove content or hide a picture;
- change a story's rating or make it private;
- suspend an account for a time, or ban it.
We tell the person what was removed and why, where we can. A banned account can still log in on the website to download its own stories. If you think we made a mistake, email admin@fictionrealm.net.
6. Copyright complaints
If you think something on Fiction Realm copies your work, email admin@fictionrealm.net with: a link to it, what your original work is and where it was published, and a statement that the information is true and you own the rights (or act for the owner). We'll look into it and remove infringing content.
7. Workshop, Swaps and Bookshop
These features help writers and designers work with each other: beta reading, read-for-read swaps, and book covers in return for a "payoff" (a follow, a credit, a shout-out or a read). These are arrangements between users. We provide the tools but aren't part of the deal, and we can't guarantee that every user keeps their side. Report anyone who breaks the rules. A designer who makes a cover keeps the rights to it unless they agree otherwise with the author; the author may use it for their story.
8. The service
Fiction Realm is free. We work hard to keep it running well, but we provide it "as is": it may sometimes be unavailable, change, or have mistakes, and we may add, change or remove features. Keep your own copies of important writing; you can download your data at any time.
As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for content posted by users, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer laws of your country that can't be limited.
9. Ending your account
You can deactivate or delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or if we have to close the site. If we ever close Fiction Realm, we'll give you notice so you can download your stories.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is important, we'll tell you on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use Fiction Realm after that means you accept the new terms.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Bulgaria. If you live in another EU country, you also keep the protection of its consumer laws, and you can bring a claim there.
